A portfolio-driven website for an architecture firm that needed their project work to take center stage. Clean navigation, full-screen project imagery, and a design that stays out of the way of the architecture itself.
Makers Architecture is a firm that takes pride in thoughtful, considered design. Their buildings are the product of careful attention to materials, context, and the people who will use them. Their website needed to reflect that same sensibility.
We designed a site where the architecture is the hero. The homepage opens with a full-screen project image that immediately communicates the quality of their work. The portfolio section uses a grid layout with high-resolution photography that lets visitors browse projects at a glance before diving into the details.
Each project page tells the story of the building: the client's brief, the design approach, the materials, and the outcome. The writing is concise and the photography does the heavy lifting. Navigation is minimal and intuitive so that nothing competes with the work for attention.
The result is a website that feels like walking through a well-curated gallery. It establishes Makers Architecture as a firm that values craft, and it gives prospective clients the confidence that comes from seeing a body of excellent work.
Custom portfolio post type that allows the firm to add new projects with categorization by type (residential, commercial, institutional), full-screen image galleries, project descriptions, and technical details. Designed for easy self-management through the WordPress admin.
Minimal chrome and generous use of white space put the photography front and center. The typography is restrained and elegant. Color is used sparingly so that the architecture and its context provide the visual richness.
Individual project pages that walk visitors through the design process, from initial brief through completion. Written content is paired with full-width photography and detail shots to tell a complete story.
An about section that introduces the firm's philosophy and the people behind the work. Designed to complement the portfolio by giving prospective clients insight into how the firm thinks and operates.
