WORDPRESS WEB DESIGN

Custom WordPress Web Design

Quick answer: We build custom WordPress websites from scratch for local businesses. No templates, no page builders, no bloated themes. Every site is designed around your business goals, built to load fast, and structured so Google can find and rank your pages. WordPress powers over 62% of all CMS-based websites for good reason, and we build on that foundation the right way.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

What You Get with a Custom WordPress Build

Every WordPress project includes these deliverables. The scope adjusts based on your page count and functionality needs, but the quality of the build stays the same whether it is a 5-page site or a 30-page site.

01

Custom Theme Development

We build your WordPress theme from scratch using clean, semantic HTML, modern CSS, and lightweight JavaScript. No pre-built themes, no Elementor, no Divi, no WPBakery. Those page builders add hundreds of kilobytes of unnecessary code that slow your site down and create security vulnerabilities. Our custom themes load faster, rank better, and give you complete design flexibility without the bloat.

02

Responsive Design for Every Screen

Over 60 percent of web traffic comes from mobile devices. Your site is designed mobile-first and tested across phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop screens. We do not just shrink the desktop version to fit smaller screens. We design separate layouts for each breakpoint, ensuring that navigation, text size, images, and call-to-action buttons all work perfectly on every device.

03

SEO Architecture Built In

Your WordPress site is built with SEO baked into the foundation, not bolted on after launch. This includes proper heading hierarchy, schema markup, optimized URL structures, XML sitemaps, fast load times, and clean internal linking. We configure Yoast SEO or Rank Math for easy ongoing optimization. If you are also working with our SEO team, we coordinate keyword targeting and content structure from the start.

04

Content Management Training

WordPress is powerful because it lets you update your own content without touching code. We set up your admin dashboard with custom fields and intuitive editing interfaces so you can update text, swap images, add blog posts, and manage pages without needing a developer. After launch, we walk your team through the dashboard in a recorded training session that you can reference any time.

05

Performance Optimization

Page speed affects both user experience and search rankings. Every site we build targets a 90-plus score on Google PageSpeed Insights. We achieve this through image optimization, lazy loading, code minification, efficient caching, and minimal plugin usage. We only install plugins that serve a specific purpose and are actively maintained. Every additional plugin is a potential security risk and performance drag.

06

Security Hardening

WordPress powers 43 percent of all websites, which makes it a frequent target for hackers. We implement security best practices from day one: hidden login URLs, two-factor authentication, limited login attempts, file permission hardening, security headers, and automatic malware scanning. Your site is set up on our managed hosting environment with daily backups and SSL certificates included.

WHY WORDPRESS

Why We Build on WordPress

WordPress powers 43 percent of all websites on the internet and over 62 percent of all websites using a content management system. Those numbers matter because they mean WordPress has the largest ecosystem of developers, plugins, documentation, and community support of any platform.

For local businesses, WordPress offers the right balance of flexibility and simplicity. It is powerful enough to handle ecommerce, membership sites, booking systems, and custom applications. But it is also simple enough that a business owner can log in and update their service descriptions or publish a blog post without calling a developer.

We have built on Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, and custom frameworks. Each has its place. But for businesses that need full ownership of their site, the ability to grow and add features over time, and the best possible SEO foundation, WordPress remains the strongest choice. You are not locked into a proprietary platform, and you can take your site to any developer or host at any time.

The key difference is how it is built. A WordPress site thrown together with a $59 theme and 30 plugins performs nothing like a custom-built WordPress site with clean code and 8 carefully selected plugins. That difference is what we deliver.

OUR PROCESS

How We Build Your WordPress Site

Every project follows the same four-phase process. Total timeline is typically 6 to 10 weeks from kickoff to launch.

01

Discovery and Strategy

We start by understanding your business, your customers, and your goals for the website. We review competitor sites, identify your key differentiators, and map out the site architecture. You receive a sitemap and wireframes for approval before any visual design begins. This phase takes about one week and involves one or two calls with your team.

02

Design

Our designer creates full-page mockups of your homepage and one key interior page. You review the designs and provide feedback. We allow two rounds of revisions at the design stage because it is far easier to adjust a design than to rework a built site. Once the designs are approved, they serve as the blueprint for development.

03

Development

The development team builds the site on a staging environment where you can review progress without affecting your live website. We code the custom theme, build out all pages, install and configure necessary plugins, set up forms and tracking, and populate content. You have access to the staging site throughout development and can flag issues as they come up.

04

Testing and Launch

Before going live, we run through a comprehensive launch checklist: cross-browser testing, mobile responsiveness, form submissions, page speed, broken links, SEO settings, analytics tracking, and 301 redirects from old URLs. We launch during a low-traffic window and monitor the site closely for the first 48 hours to catch and resolve any post-launch issues immediately.

MINI CASE STUDY

Dental Practice Sees 84% Increase in Online Appointments

A dental practice in Kirkland was running on a GoDaddy template site that loaded in over 7 seconds on mobile. Their online appointment form was buried three clicks deep, and the site was not ranking for any local search terms.

We built a custom WordPress site with a fast-loading, mobile-first design. The appointment booking form was placed prominently on every page. The site structure was built around the specific services and locations they wanted to rank for.

Within 90 days of launch, the site was loading in under 2 seconds, organic traffic had increased by 156 percent, and online appointment requests were up 84 percent compared to the same quarter the previous year. The site also served as the foundation for their Google Ads campaigns, which launched the following month.

"There is a massive difference between a WordPress site built with a page builder and one built with custom code. Page builders make development faster and cheaper, but the tradeoff is bloated code, slower load times, and layouts that break when plugins update. Custom code takes more time upfront, but the result is a faster, more secure, and more flexible site that performs better in every measurable way."
